Two fans have received lifetime bans from NBA arenas after one of them ran onto the court during Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday (June 3) in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the New York Knicks' comeback victory against the San Antonio Spurs. The fan attempted to take a selfie with Spurs star Victor Wembanyama before being swiftly apprehended by security. According to Yahoo Sports, the league announced that this fan has been arrested and will be banned for life from all NBA arenas. Another individual involved in the incident has also been barred from attending NBA games.

Wembanyama, who was surprised by the incident, said, "I've never been in that situation. I didn't know how to act." ESPN reports that the game was briefly halted, but quickly resumed with a jump ball after the fan was removed.

The incident is not the first of its kind this year, as another fan disrupted the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl earlier in 2026. In Texas, entering a restricted area at a stadium is a crime, and those involved could face charges such as criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

Despite the interruption, the Knicks secured a 105-95 victory, with Jalen Brunson leading the team with 30 points. Wembanyama finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Fox News reported that the Knicks are pursuing their first title since 1973.
